The Tillotson T4 And 225RS, Explained

Tillotson T4 is a spec four-stroke karting formula built around a controlled Tillotson engine package, commonly associated with the 225RS family of engines. Like the Briggs LO206, the point is parity: lock the powerplant down so budget cannot buy the field.

Where T4 separates itself is the full package thinking. The class does not only control the engine. At MCK it also races on a specified Maxxis T4 tire, which keeps grip and tire strategy from turning into an arms race.

Four-stroke spec classes are how most families afford a real season. Running costs stay lower than a water-cooled two-stroke program, rebuild cycles are gentler, and the racing comes down to line, brake points, and racecraft.

Tillotson sits beside LO206 as another honest way to race without a tuning shop in the trailer. If you want close grids and a season you can actually budget, this is the neighborhood of the sport you want to live in.

Music City Kartplex runs Tillotson Junior for ages 12 to 16 and Tillotson Senior for drivers 15 and up in the Rhythm & Race series. Both use the Tillotson four-stroke package on the Maxxis T4 tire.
