Our Story

Music City Kartplex was born out of a deep passion for motorsports and a desire to create a world-class karting facility right here in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Our founder was inspired by countless karting experiences with his son and a love for racing to fill a gap in the local motorsports scene. After traveling to many karting facilities around the country, the vision was to bring the same excitement to Middle Tennessee.

In 2024, we transformed the historic Twin Fountains Raceway into Music City Kartplex, breathing new life into a space that had been a part of Middle Tennessee's racing history since 1997.

Today, Music City Kartplex offers a premier karting experience where both casual racers and professionals can come together and share their love for speed, precision, and community.

Our Vision

At Music City Kartplex, our vision is to be one of the premier karting facilities in the US. By 2026, we plan to expand the facility by adding a second 0.9-mile competition kart track, which will meet global FIA/CIK certifications. This expansion will allow us to host not just local and regional events, but also national-level competitions, putting Music City Kartplex on the map.

Our safe, aesthetically beautiful and professional karting facility will attract both local and national visitors. With a knowledgeable team offering the highest level of customer service, we will create an environment where people of all ages can come together to enjoy the thrill of kart racing.

Jeffrey Gaccione, Owner and Founder

My son’s passion for go-karting sparked my own, inspiring me to elevate the motorsports scene in Middle Tennessee. In 2024, we transformed the historic Twin Fountains Raceway into Music City Kartplex, bringing new life to a track that has been part of the region’s racing history since 1997. Our mission? To create a premier karting experience where both casual drivers and seasoned racers can come together to enjoy the thrill of speed, precision, and community. We’re just getting started, and we’re excited to keep growing, improving, and making every visit to Music City Kartplex even better.

Lucas Arnett, General Manager

My journey in operations and motorsports began long before my current role at Music City Kartplex. For ten years, I managed one of the largest water parks in the Southeast, where I gained valuable leadership experience managing hundreds of staff through peak seasons, late nights, and high-volume crowds. After a decade in the water park industry, I felt it was time for a new challenge. I was led to Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP), where I was hired as Operations Manager and quickly promoted to General Manager. In 2024, Todd Varney offered me the opportunity to help open the Colorado Karting Circuit, and I made the move west. That journey ultimately led me here, to Music City Kartplex. I’ve always dreamed of settling in Tennessee for the final chapter of my karting career, and I truly believe I’ve found the perfect fit. The team is incredible, the community is thriving, and my son Wyatt just ran his first race this year. The future of karting in Middle Tennessee is bright, and I’m honored to be part of building it.
