Iron Man Series at Music City Kartplex
Get ready for the ultimate test of stamina and speed with our Friday night Iron Man Series! This three-round solo endurance championship challenges drivers to complete the most laps in a 60-minute race. Open to both Lightweight (Minimum 180 lbs) and Heavyweight (Minimum 210 lbs) classes, this series offers intense competition under the lights.

Race Overview
- Format: 1-Hour Solo Iron Man Race – Most laps in 60-minutes wins.
- Combined 12-Minute Practice + Qualifying Session
- Mixed Grid: Fastest qualifying time sets the field, regardless of weight class
- 2 Weight Classes:
- Lightweight Class: 180 lbs minimum
- Heavyweight Class: 210 lbs minimum
- Ballast provided – up to 40 lbs available
Weight Classes
Lightweight Division
Limited to 12 drivers. Driver must weigh 180+ pounds on the MCKplex scale, including gear and ballast weight as necessary
Heavyweight Division
Limited to 12 drivers. Driver must weigh 210+ pounds on the MCKplex scale, including gear and ballast weight as necessary.
Up to 40 pounds of ballast weight is available at the track as necessary.
Final weigh-in occurs after qualifying. Penalty of +20 seconds per pound under minimum.
Grid Penalty: Start from the back if underweight.
Race Day Details
6:00 PM: Check-In
6:30 PM: Mandatory Drivers’ Meeting
6:45 PM: Final Scales & Kart Assignment
7:00 PM: 10-Minute Practice + Qualifying Session
7:15 PM: Return to Grid / Optional Kart Swap / Fuel Karts
7:30 PM: Main Race Start (1 Hour)
8:30 PM: Race Ends / Scales
8:45 PM: Podium Ceremony
*Drivers may switch karts after qualifying but will start from the back.
Championship Format
- 3 Rounds – No Drops
- Points awarded per round:
- 1st: 25 pts, 2nd: 24 pts, 3rd: 23 pts, and so on
- +1 Bonus Point for Pole Position
- Mixed Starting Grid: Fastest lap earns pole regardless of class
- Top 3 in Each Class recognized each round
- Cumulative Points Winner = Series Champion

Important: All racers must pre-register, and registration is first come, first served.
Drivers must be at least 13 years old and provide a Music City Kartplex Minor Waiver if applicable. Limit to 12 drivers per class (24 total).
